Nashville or Bust!

V and I took a short trip up to Nashville to visit our good friend Maggie and her owner Scott.  Maggie was very gracious and offered up the best hospitality!  We love you Maggie Scott!!

Glenwood Springs in the Summer Time

The four of us took a trip to Glenwood Springs in July and had a great time swimming in the pool, although I felt we stayed one day too long.  We stayed in the Hot Springs Lodge (very nice), and spent almost all day at the pool.  We attempted to hike to Hidden Lake but it was closed.  All in all, a great time.

Cedar Point is the bomb

V and I took a trip up to Cedar Point around mid-June, mainly to visit our good friend from Nashville.  Turns out that Cedar Point is quite the amusement park.  I highly recommend it to anyone not named Ross.

Southern Caribbean

We just got back from some fantastic warm weather, and most importantly, relaxation.   We took a cruise out of Miami, and headed off to the Dominican Republic, the British Virgin Islands, and Barbados.  Nine days of bliss.

Ryan is loving hoops

Ryan started his second season of basketball, and after three games they are 3-0!   Ryan is gaining more confidence every game, and seems to be getting the hang of it.  He is the point guard for the team, knows how to use screens, and has this sweet spin move jump shot thing.  Ryan is also playing better defense, but tends to be too agressive and physical - if they kept track of fouls I am sure he would lead the team!  Lacrosse might be a good sport for him when he gets older.   All in all, I am very proud of him!!

Snoozefest

Yes, that one word could be used to describe the Dallas Cowboy's offense, but it can also be a reference to the first ever picture of our furry four-legged friends together on the couch.  Perhaps the sad ending to the Cowboy's season crossed the species boundaries and brought them together for a moment of solidarity.

Hook 'em

Check out my front yard, super-sized Texas spirit! Nothing like a seven foot Bevo to attract negative attention in Colorado.

Tonight's the big night! I fired up the grill, threw on some tuna steaks, and we sat down to watch the game. If you have to ask "which game?", please unsubscribe from my blog and go back to surfing yahoo on your AOL account. Anyway, the game starts great, until Colt gets hurt on the first drive.  Ugh.   Then the defense gives up two touchdowns, and to make matters worse the anemic offense tries a bonehead shovel pass that turns into a pick-6.  24-6 at the half.  The tide was rolling.   But I have to take off my hat to the true freshman Gilbert, who despite being in a bad situation, helped the Horns score 15 straight points to make it a game.
